To install the Relations application on Windows, you can choose either the simple way using the zip file or the easy way using the Windows installer.

Using the zip file

Download the zipped application Relations-VersNr-win32.zip on the project's download page. Extract the content to any directory in your file system. After installation, start the program by clicking on the Relations.exe item in the specified directory.

Using Windows installer

Download the installer program Relations-VersNr.msi on project's download page and start it.
You then have to choice of either a Typical or a Custom installation. If you choose Typical, the whole application is installed into a subdirectory named Relations in your programs folder, e.g. C:\Program Files\Relations\. If you choose Custom, however, you can set the location where the application is installed by yourself.

Custom Setup


Other application settings you can define during setup are: The place of the application shortcut in you start menu, whether the setup should place a shortcut on  you desktop, whether the setup should create a shortcut in your Quick Launch taskbar.

After installation, start the program by activating the shortcut created.

Removal

To remove the application, start the Relations Installer again. You're presented a selection to modify, repair or remove the installation. Chosing Remove will uninstall the Relations application.

Note: The Relations application will create various files on your computer's file system. These files are removed when removing the application except of the files created by the embedded database used by the application. This means that you can install the application again at the same place without losing the data you have created.
